Usage on seas
The navigation program Lux Navalis makes cruising easy and it is a good aid for the navigator. With the aid of Lux Navalis positioning the vessel on the chart is easy - the vessels position is continuously monitored on the chart. The worse the outside conditions, due to fog, rain, darkness or hard wind and heavy waves, the more you will value Lux Navalis. Even in thick fog you can safely navigate off from the fail lane. You should, however, NEVER NEGLECT keeping good watch. Even in fine weather you can easily concentrate in something interesting and accidentally miss-navigate. Route planning makes it easy to plan your own trips by taking into account your own vessel´s properties and the available time. Automatic route planning helps in comparing alternative routes. Alternative routes for different weather conditions can be stored for future usage. The progress of the trip can be observed while letting the autopilot take care of steering. The harbour database of the program helps in finding suitable landing and over-night places.
In Lux Navalis you can easily mark own posisions and notes on the chart. It is possible to attach photographs and other documents to the notes. Lux Navalis is also used for diffents positional logbookings, e.g. bird observations small beasts on the coast and diving locations. Notes and routes are easily transferred to new versions of the program.
