Responsibilities
The creator of the program is not responsible of any damages caused by functionings, missfunctionings or errors in databases of Lux Navalis. The navigational responsibility is always on the master of the ship or on the person who is responsible of navigation.
The charts drawn by the program are not classified as official navigation charts.
The creator of the program tries to make the program work faultlessly and will correct errors, reported by writing (errors that harm the function of the program), in the next free upgrade-version.
The chart material of the Finnish Maritime Administration and copyrights to it.
The chart material is produced according to the permits No. 24/712/98 and 6/721/99 from copyright-protected navigation-chart -material.
This product does not replace the demand for official navigation charts. The Finnish Maritime Administration is not responsible of the differences between the original navigation chart material and the final product. Aboard a ship must always be available official navigation charts printed on paper or an ACDIS-system with approved official ENC-chart material.
The VATU-information (basic information about the safety devices) included in the product is maintained by the Maritime Administration. The information as such is not ment to navigation use. The Maritime Administration is not responsible of any damages cause by the use or interpreting it.
Upgrading and support
The buyer of the program or other data is allowed to upgrade the products as long as the program version remains the same. The upgrades are freely downloadable from the Lux Navalis internet-pages.
The program is usually upgraded in the spring.
The version of the program and other material can be upgraded as whole on special upgrade price, mentioned in the price list.
Separately upgraded are the chart material and the safetydevice database. To upgrade the charts may need upgrading some parts of the program, too
Old versions are upgraded with corrections for one year after the publication of a new version.
Tailor-made applications
New parts and functions for Lux Navalis can be tailor-made for special customers. These applications have to be negotiated separately.
Copyright protection
The product is copyright protected with either a serial number adapter connected to the parallel port of the computer or with some other similar method.
Product changes
The developer of the program reserves rights to modify and change the functioning of the program in the new versions, including the information given on these pages, without prior notice.
Licence of the program
Hannu Säles Oy, Ltd. owns all rights to Lux Navalis program and all parts of it, except some parts licenced from other sources, e.g. the Finnish Maritime Administration (FMA).
The end-user of the program has only the right to use the program. This right cannot be transferred further without a written permit from Hannu Säles Oy, Ltd.. Before this permitted transfer, all parts of Lux Navalis must be permanently and verifiably removed from the user´s computer.
